bearflair - About the Artist

my name is Alaine Ferreira,

I am a South African bear artist, that recently immigrated to Perth in Western Australia.

I’ve been making bears for the past 5 years and I have to say ever since my first bear came to life
I just couldn’t be stopped one hug and I was hooked!

So I started creating and designing weird and wonderful bears
mostly inspired by my two darling little boys and my love for animals!

My designs features a range of styles including traditional,
funky, weird and wonderful bears.

I love working with a range of fabrics including mohair, recycled fur, and even synthetic fur.
I love mixing and matching colours to create truly magnificent little individuals.

My bears are my children and I spend countless hours brining each little creation to life.

I must say bringing out their personalities is no easy job.
Each one special in every way.

So needless to say no two bears are the same!

If you can’t find a bear that suits you,
I would love to work with you to create a special bear just like you’ve dreamed about!

I love working with people who place special orders, creating the perfect new addition to their bear family is very fulfilling.
And their involvement is greatly appreciated when it comes to naming their special bear and if it's going to be a boy or a girl.

I even design the bear according to their choice of colour and size.

All my bears come with their very own birth certificate, dated and signed
by me!
